Bristol TN-VA Association of Realtors 2025 President is selected to the Virginia Association of Realtors Board of Directors

Fred McClellan

At the Virginia Association of Realtors annual conference in Richmond, VA, held on September 16-18, 2025, Fred McClellan was installed to the board of directors to a three-year term beginning in 2026.  Fred will join the board alongside Cindy Hornsby, who also serves on the 2025 Bristol Tennessee-Virginia Association of Realtors, (BTVAR), board of directors.

Fred graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise and received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2006. He began his professional career as a retail banker and commercial lender before making the transition to entrepreneurship. Fred owned and managed businesses in the food and beverage sector for three decades, developing knowledge in the needs of business owners and operators. In 2008, Fred pivoted into real estate. He is currently the principal broker of Virginessee Real Estate Consultants and a CCIM, (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designee.

Licensed in both Tennessee and Virginia, Fred has volunteered in the industry at the state and local level in both states. He has been an active member of the BTVAR, serving on various committees and acting as the association's president in 2016 and 2025. Currently, he is a member of the Virginia Realtors Public Policy Committee, and he served as a member of the 2024 Virginia Realtors Board of Directors. His past service includes membership on the Virginia Realtors Economic Advisory Board. In Tennessee, Fred has served as a member of the Tennessee Realtors Board of Directors and is a member of the Tennessee Realtors Commercial Forms Committee.

Aside from his real estate career, Fred is an advocate for Bristol's musical heritage. He co-founded the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance in 1994. This leadership role included the initiative to designate Bristol as the official "Birthplace of Country Music" through legislation in the Virginia General Assembly in 1995, the United States Congress in 1998, and the ultimate recognition as an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.
